Bring on the love.
I am unashamedly a huge romance movie fan, and I'm always on the hunt for a new fave. This started with my original list of my favorite romance movies on Netflix (see it here) - and I've been asked for more suggestions, so here it is: five more of my favorite romance movies on Netflix! The Royal Treatment
This movie came out not too long ago, but I haven't heard many people talk about it. I wonder why? It's really cute! And it stars a Canadian - Meena Massoud (not only a fellow Canadian, but a fellow Arab and fellow Markhamite!) Izzy gets the chance to work for the Prince of Lavania, she takes it. Worlds clash and love blooms in this fun movie.
From IMDB: New York hairdresser Izzy seizes the chance to work at the wedding of a charming prince, but when sparks between them fly, will love or duty prevail?
Resort to Love
This one was so funny - I always love movies featuring Christina Milian! Milian's character, Erica, breaks up with her fiance and has a career crisis - so she takes a job as a singer at resort - then her ex shows up, she meets a cute guy, and she ends up singing at her ex's wedding. You gotta check it out!
From IMDB: Erica, who ends up as the entertainment at her ex-fiancé's wedding after reluctantly taking a gig at a luxurious island resort while in the wake of a music career meltdown.
Love Jacked
In this funny movie, Maya pretends to marry a man to go against her father - but he's not as innocent as he seems! I also love the soundtrack for this movie, and of course Maya's amazing style. This film is extra special because it features Canadian actors Shamier Anderson and Lyriq Bent!
From IMDB: MAYA, has artistic ambitions - her father ED wants a dutiful daughter to run the family store. Taking her independence a step further, Maya decides to travel to Africa for inspiration and returns with a fiancé.
Finding You
I adore this movie, it's just so cute. Also Jedidiah Goodacre is super cute (and Canadian!) This movies features a heartwarming story about a girl who travels to Ireland for a semester abroad, but who gets intertwined with both a movie star and an angry LTC home resident.
From IMDB: Violinist Finley Sinclair travels to an Irish coastal village to begin her semester studying abroad. At the B&B run by her host family she encounters the gregarious and persistent heartthrob movie star Beckett Rush.
Letters to Juliet
This movie is still one of my favorites 12 years later - I could watch it again and again and not get tired if it! Cheesy? Perhaps. But as I also say, the world could use a bit of cheesy these days. Sophie Travels to Italy for a pre-honeymoon, but while her fiance is off doing stuff for work, Claire learns about the "secretaries of Juliet," which sets her on an adventure to find Claire's long lost love, and to find love herself.
From IMDB: Sophie dreams of becoming a writer and travels to Verona, Italy where she meets the "Secretaries of Juliet".
